Facilities & Grounds

The Onga Onga School Community are very proud of their beautiful grounds and facilities.

These grounds have developed over the life of the school with the dedication of volunteer parent work. Countless hours have been spent developing special gardens where parents, teachers and students have volunteered their leisure time have produced some outstanding areas in our school.

Classrooms

Classrooms are modern, comfortable and well resourced. All have air-conditioning or beautiful rural breezes. Teachers create a stimulating environment conducive to active learning. Parent involvement in the classroom is welcomed.

Technology

The air-conditioned computer laboratory and the access to information technology through the Internet ensure students are being skilled in emerging technologies. All classrooms also have data projectors or electronic whiteboards so that teachers can use technology as an integral teaching tool in daily lessons. 

Every student accesses the computer laboratory on a weekly basis. The laboratory has xxx computers all of which are networked and provide internet access. A technology co-ordinator supports classroom teachers to develop vital technological skills in students.

Playgrounds

We have two modern adventure playgrounds at our school; one for the junior and one for the senior students. They are beautifully shaded by large trees and surrounded by soft fall material. The playgrounds are utilised by all children for physical education lessons, gross motor skill programmes or just socialising with friends.

Lecture Room

The fully computerised and air-conditioned Lecture Room forms the basis of the school's ongoing commitment to resource-based teaching and learning and offers students and teachers access to an extensive range of educational resources. There is a dedicated "Teacher Librarian" who ensures that the Lecture Room operates both efficiently and effectively.

Music Room

Music and Instrumental activities are offered at Onga Onga Primary School, which provides students with many varied opportunities to express their creative needs through participation and performance.

School Hall

We are very fortunate to have access to the Onga Onga Town Hall for student and community use. The hall is fully-equipped with a playing area, kitchen, stage, lighting and sound system. 

Covered Multi-Purpose Areas

The Onga Onga Primary School boasts a spacious covered area used for school assemblies, special commemorative occasions and physical education lessons as well as providing a perfect wet weather play space for students. The covered area allow the school to have separate play spaces for junior and senior students as well as separate eating areas in the shade.

Pool

Playing Fields

The total campus covers approximately XXX hectares. Two ovals provide ample playing area for all student interests whilst hundreds of trees and shrubs afford vital protection from the hot summer elements. The grounds are used by many outside sporting groups and neighbouring schools.
