Extra Curricular Opportunities
Onga Onga Primary School has a commitment to provide a wide range of extra curricular activities. We are a member of the CHB Primary Schools Cluster that provides competition for children in:
- Swimming
- Winter Sports – Rugby, Soccer, Netball, Basketball, Hockey
- Summer Sports - Cross Country, Cricket, Tennis
We also offer school sporting teams that participate in after school or weekend competitions in:
- Soccer
- Cricket
Netball
This year, four girls were able to make it into the C.H.B Representitaves in netball.
Cross Country
Our school did very well in all age groups and managed to get placings in all races against rivals Tikokino and Sherwood.
Interschool Cross Country
We had a great run winnning the the Boys Intermediate and the Boys and Girls Senior. We came second overall just behind Flemington School.
Interschool Tennis
Interschool tennis is once every week on Monday, there are 4 players in a team if more there are subs. The 4 players are ranked 1-4 denpending on the players abilitys. Each school will play every other school throughout the weeks. The first week was the fun day, just a day of tennis games, then having afternoon tea. The competition lasts for 5 weeks then there will be a winning school.

Ongaonga School has a proud history of players representing CHB at the Wakely Shield Tournament.
Ross Shield
Over the past few years Ongaonga School has contributed a large number of players to this famous tournament.
Onga 7's
The Onga 7's is a huge sporting event that our school holds every year, that includes Hockey,Soccer,Netball and of course Rugby.We always do really well at rugby and we did even better this year thanks to the six senior reps we have.
